"If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all" (Mark 9:35). These words of Jesus to his disciples still stand as a command to us today. As we serve those in need, Jesus can be seen moving in their lives as well as our own. This is a great model to obey Jesus and to serve His people in a practical way.

Bag Hunger

Bag Hunger is Vine Church's food pantry program.  Every Wednesday the food pantry is open for those in need to pick up a bag of food.  We also deliver bags of food to those in the Carbondale area who are unable to come to the church for assistance.

If you would like to help those in the Carbondale area in need of assistance please pick up a yellow bag from the Bag Hunger display in the church lobby, fill the bag with the food items listed on the bag, and return the filled bag to the church.  If you are interested in helping deliver bags of food or if you would like more information, please contact Mike Stephens at mstephens@vinecommunitychurch.com.

 

Project Compassion

Project Compassion is Vine Church's ministry to families and individuals in our community that are homeless or in need.  Our goals are to: address the day-to-day requests for food, clothing, and shelter; provide some level of safety, health, and overall well being; foster the social needs of individuals by providing support in times of crisis.  Read More »

Serving Lunches

Each month, a team of people spends time preparing, setting up, and serving lunch to about one hundred people who are in need of a hot meal.  This is a great opportunity to share God's love by serving others in a simple but helpful way.  We currently meet at the Vine on the second Saturday of every month at 11:45.  We prepare the food and then go to the Sycamore Street area of Carbondale to feed those in need in that neighborhood.  For more information contact Mike Stephens at mstephens@vinecommunitychurch.com.
