“Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.  Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” (Galatians 6:9-10).

It is clear from the Bible that as disciples of Jesus we should be serving; not just ourselves, and not just our unchurched friends, but we should be serving the church as well.  At Vine Church we depend heavily on volunteers helping out in order for us to operate.  There are a number of different areas for you to help with. Here are just a few:

Facility Maintenance

Do you like to work with your hands?  Can you build things without breaking other things?  Can you use power tools without seriously injuring yourself or others?  This area has teams for landscaping, grounds keeping, building projects (carpentry, plumbing, electrical skills), and maintenance (patching and painting).  For more information contact Jim Rains at jrains@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Facility Cleaning

Do you hate filth?  Are you kind of a neat freak?  Or do you really enjoy being super helpful by serving in a 'behind the scenes' sort of way?  This area has teams that clean our facility during or after the weekend services as well as during the week.  For more information contact Emily Clerk at eclerk@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Hospitality Team

Would people describe you as friendly, warm, or likeable?  Do you love to meet new people and make them feel welcome?  This area has teams that help people find a parking spot, hold doors open, hand out programs, and answer questions at our Welcome Center.  For more information contact Noble Staley at nstaley@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Kids Program

Maybe you’re a retired grandma who doesn’t get enough baby cuddling time or you’re a college student who wants to learn a bit about kids before you have some one day...our kids program would be a great place for you to serve.  For more information contact Mike Berardi at mberardi@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Youth Program

Are you down with all the hip lingo?  Do you own an ipod, text often, and lol with your bff?  Do you have an ocean of patience?  Maybe you should serve in our Youth Program.  For more information contact Josh Franklin at jfranklin@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Set up Team

When you look at a room with 775 chairs, do you ever find yourself saying “I bet we could take 600 hundred of these chairs out and roll in 20 or so round tables in less than an hour?”  If so, you have found your place in the church my friend.  For more information contact Rich Schmaltz at raschmaltz@gmail.com.

Office Help

Do you love to cut, fold, and sort paper?  How proficient are you at answering a telephone?  Could you be friendly and professional for a couple hours a week?   For more information contact Terry Kessinger at tkessinger@vinecommunitychurch.com.

Worship Team

Feeding the Hungry

Do you love food and/or people?  Have you ever looked at one of your friends and thought “I bet they could use a sandwich…”?  This area has teams of people that deliver bags of food to those in need every week and teams that prepare and serve a hot meal for specific neighborhoods in the Carbondale area.  For more information contact Mike Stephens at mstephens@vinecommunitychurch.com.
